Chapter 275 Town documentation

November 9, 2007 by · Leave a Comment

We have now received a copy of the Resolution passed by the Town Board on Tuesday this week. This amends the hearing date from November 20th to December 4th at 7.35pm, and has the latest version of the Amendments to Local Law Chapter 275 that it is proposed to enact.

Post edited to add: There have been many versions of the proposed amendments, of which we have seen perhaps three or four. Minor changes have appeared over time [eg: "roof shingles" added to 275-4., (10)], and it’s not easy to track the details. The one significant change that appears in this latest revision is the addition of a whole new “275-12B Stop work orders”. It is several paragraphs long and we strongly suggest that this section be reviewed further.

  1. Doug Rose Sr. says:

Southold Waterfront Residents without a VOICE are learning the mechanics of an overburdened local government with their agencies and departments looking
for the legislation of 275 to buffer what was once a government administration that would react with a kind, forgiving and understanding posture. 275 doesn’t remove or clarify the waterfront barriers that have always been there. 275 with its present definitions, language and formulas seem to create a greater expense for the homeowner, reviewing agencies and code enforcement.
