Dredge Permit Correction

In our December Newsletter, we reported that the dredge permits for Schoolhouse Creek and Wickham Creek have now been released. We now understand that only the permit for Schoolhouse Creek was issued and that Wickham Creek is still outstanding at this time.
Good news for Corey Creek. With the impending Dec 15 deadline, SCDPW applied to the Army Corp for a short extension to the permit so that they could finish Corey Creek. The Army Corp approved the request so the plan is to continue on the inlet with the goal of finishing by Wednesday 12/19.

Question for the Southold Dredge Committee: After watching the preliminary effects of 12/07 Nor’easter Storm, what effects can be measured of the impact
of the storm on the Southold Creeks that were recently dredged? Even a visual report by the surrounding waterfront homeowners would be a welcome comment
on the website or the Soapbox. Please respond.
