Harold Homeowner On Dock Maintenance

I have read the 3 Foot 2×6 “case study”, presented at the 04DEC07 town hall meeting on Local Law 275, and which – in general – represents our situation, too. On 07 JAN 08 “Anonymous” posted a comment expressing a desire to “…hear the trustees’ response to…[the] three-foot 2×6 plank repair question.” My wife, Anna Homeowner, and I have not come across any response to the questions [A. through F.] posed by the case study.
We both feel that we represent a significant segment of Southold’s waterfront residents who are confused about the “275 status” of their existing, functioning, legacy docks [and other structures].
1. How can we find out if our dock is “registered” and / or “permitted”?
2. How can we obtain the appropriate Southold Town issued number to display on the dock?
3. What are the maintenance, repair and “number posting” implications of “registered” vs “permitted” status?
