Sound Bluff Erosion Beach Walk

The weather has been great for autumn beach walks, and John Kramer highly recommends this walk to anyone who wants to see just how big a problem life on the bluff can be and how difficult it is to correct the problem. The walk begins at Horton’s Point Lighthouse.

To plant or not to plant

I recently acquired a Soundfront property high on a bluff. I keep reading about the need to use “proper” plantings to maintain the bluff, but no one ever seems to say what is “proper.” Right now, there is mostly poison ivy along the edge, that must go. What should it be replaced with?
